When Berks County Cat Rescue Meets Halloween Magic
The only thing better than a pumpkin spice latte? A pumpkin-colored kitten looking for a forever home. 🍂🐱
On October 19th, we packed our camera (and a few treats for morale) and headed to Pet Supplies Plus in Shillington, PA for Berks Community Cats’ Meowlloween Adoption Fair & Treat Sale.
And friends — it was pure, cozy, whisker-filled joy.
🧁 Sweet Treats, Sweeter Mission
Right out front, the Berks Community Cats (BCC) crew had transformed the sidewalk into a Halloween bake sale dream. Rows of brownies, Tandy cakes, cookies, and cupcakes lined the table, each one baked with love.
Alongside the sweets were BCC t-shirts, rescue stickers, handmade art prints from volunteers, and — our favorite find — mystery bags for a $20 donation!
We couldn’t resist. (Spoiler: ours included cat toys, cat socks for hoomans, a keepsake for our whiskers and hair, and more!! Instant heart melt.)
The Stars of the Show: Adoptable Cats
After stocking up on sugar, we followed the sound of gentle purrs to the adoption area in the back of the store.
There, in cozy cages were some of Berks County’s most eligible whisker-babes:
Creamsicle, a shy orange sweetheart with the softest fur imaginable.
Ziva, a tiny black kitten who greeted everyone with a paw tap through the bars (10/10 marketing skills).
Bella, an orange queen with enough confidence to run her own newsroom.
Each cat was vetted, vaccinated, microchipped, and patiently waiting for their forever humans to find them.
Why Events Like This Matter
Berks Community Cats isn’t just rescuing cats — they’re building community. By combining TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs, adoption fairs, and creative fundraisers like this one, they’re making real change across Pennsylvania.
Every cookie sold, every sticker bought, every cat adopted adds up to one thing: fewer homeless cats, and more happy endings. 💛

✅ Mystery bags should absolutely be a year-round thing.
We left with full hearts, sticky paws (sorry, icing accident), and the renewed belief that cat lovers are some of the kindest people around. Check out some of the lucky bachelors who found forever homes this week at the Berks Community Cats’ Meowlloween Adoption Fair & Treat Sale.

Why Do Cats Eat Grass? The Science (and the Feelings) Behind It
Ever caught your cat munching on grass like a tiny, furry cow — only to watch them dramatically throw it up 30 seconds later? 😹
Yeah… us too.
Tomorrow, we’re digging into one of the biggest feline mysteries: why cats eat grass — and it’s not just because we’re weird. From digestion and detox to instinct and emotion, there’s real science (and heart) behind this green obsession.
