Callie’s Confession: We’re Weak for Wine and Whiskers
Hi, hoomans — it’s Callie, Seymour, Yebba, and Mama reporting live from the Stray Cat News newsroom (okay, fine — from the couch).
There are few things that bring people together quite like a good cause, a good drink, and a cat’s approving purr. Luckily, Fishtails Animal Rescue has all three lined up for their Fall Sip & Shop event this Sunday, November 16th from 12–4 PM at Fishtown Animal Hospital in Philadelphia.
It’s free to attend, full of cozy autumn vibes, and every purchase helps save rescue cats and dogs. 🍂🐾
Sip Wine. Eat Cheese. Save Cats.
You read that right. While you sip, snack, and shop, every vendor you visit will be donating a portion of their sales to Fishtails Animal Rescue (FAR) — a nonprofit that gives Philly’s most at-risk animals their second chance at life.
Let’s meet the talented makers helping make this event shine:
📿 @yay_diff — A queer and woman-owned jewelry brand featuring a customizable charm bar! Create your own bracelets, necklaces, bag charms — or even collar clips for your cats and pups. Because who says we can’t accessorize too?
🍪 @twocatsandadogco — A local Asian, Black, and woman-owned pet bakery whipping up natural, homemade treats that are purrfect for holiday stockings (and approved by the Stray Cat News taste-test team).
🐈 Fishtails Merch & Surprise Raffle — Grab exclusive FAR merchandise or try your luck with a mystery raffle that might just make your tail wag.
Shopping That Saves Lives
Every dollar spent helps Fishtails Animal Rescue continue their mission to provide medical care, foster support, and forever homes for Philly’s most vulnerable animals.
Founded by Dr. Lauren Cohn, Fishtails works tirelessly to rescue cats and dogs with medical needs and connect them to loving families. The Fishtails Fighting Chance Fund even helps pet parents cover emergency care — because no one should have to surrender their best friend in a moment of crisis.
So yes — your charm bracelet, cookie purchase, or bottle of wine does a whole lot more than sparkle. It helps save lives. ✨
