BERKS COUNTY, PA — ARL Golf Outing Nears Capacity, New Ways to Join Open

With its signature spring fundraiser approaching, the Animal Rescue League of Berks County has released new updates for its upcoming Not Your Grandfather’s Golf Outing—and while the main event has officially filled, opportunities to participate are still open.

The outing, set for May 29 at Manor Golf Course, has already reached capacity for golf foursomes, signaling strong early support for one of the organization’s most recognizable annual fundraisers.

But for those who missed registration, the ARL is offering two alternative ways to take part—both designed to expand access beyond the course itself.

A Full Course—But Not a Closed Event

Golf registration is now sold out.

That alone reflects growing momentum around the event, which has continued to evolve into something broader than a traditional outing.

In recent years, ARL events have consistently drawn:

  • Increased community participation

  • Expanded sponsorship interest

  • Stronger post-event engagement through raffles and evening programming

And this year’s turnout appears to follow that same pattern.

The After PawTee: An Open Invitation

For those not golfing, the After PawTee offers a way in.

📅 May 29
📍 Manor Golf Course
🕓 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Tickets include:

  • a $15 food truck voucher

  • two drink tickets

  • access to raffles and event activities

Rather than positioning it as a secondary option, the ARL is treating the After PawTee as its own experience—one centered on community, accessibility, and connection.

Golf Cart Sponsorships Open to the Public

In a move that extends participation even further, the ARL has opened golf cart sponsorships to the broader community.

For $100, supporters can feature:

  • their own pet

  • or a shelter animal

on signage displayed across two golf carts during the event.

Key details:

  • Limited availability (approximately 20 spots remaining)

  • Photo submission deadline: May 1

  • Placement visible throughout the course during play

This option allows individuals to take part in a visible, creative way—even without attending.

Where the Impact Goes

Funds raised through the outing support the ARL’s ongoing work, including:

  • animal rescue and intake

  • medical treatment and rehabilitation

  • adoption programs

  • community outreach initiatives

For organizations operating at this scale, fundraising events like this are not supplemental—they’re foundational.

A Familiar Presence on the Course

Stray Cat News will be present as a sponsor this year, supporting the event alongside other local contributors.

We’ve followed the evolution of this outing over the past two years, and what stands out most is how it continues to grow without losing its accessibility.

What Happens Next

With golf registration closed, attention now shifts to:

  • final sponsorship placements

  • After PawTee attendance

  • event-day execution

If previous years are any indication, the evening portion will carry much of the visible community energy.

Final Call: Limited Windows Still Open

While the course may be full, participation isn’t closed.

Two entry points remain:

👉 Golf Cart Sponsorships (deadline May 1)
👉 After PawTee Tickets (available now)

Final Thoughts From Cats Who Know a Good Event

We don’t golf often.

Let’s just get that out of the way.

But we do know:

What matters.
What lasts.
What people talk about after.

And this?

This is one of those events.

And if you go?

Find our Hooman Ashley and say hello!

She will be on-site capturing the stories, moments, and impact of the day — and we can’t wait to share it with the community.
