We padded into the newsroom this morning and noticed something unusual: our human was frantically checking the ARL website, typing with the urgency usually reserved for vet appointment days or when someone (not naming names) knocks over a houseplant.
Turns out… it’s the last chance to grab tickets for the Animal Rescue League’s Festival of Trees on December 5th, and humans across Pennsylvania are suddenly realizing how fast this night sneaks up.
So as four rescue cats who owe our entire lives to communities that show up for animals, we felt it was our journalistic duty to gently (but firmly) nudge you:

Why Festival of Trees Matters
Sure, the twinkling lights are beautiful.
Sure, the raffle baskets are famous at this point.
And yes — humans always come home smelling like appetizers, which we do find suspicious.
But at its heart, Festival of Trees is about something quieter and bigger:
It keeps the ARL’s lifesaving work going.
Your ticket isn’t just entry to a holiday event — it becomes warm bedding for a shy cat, vaccines for a litter of kittens, surgery for animals who wouldn’t survive without it, and one more day of shelter for pets waiting for their people.
It’s community meeting compassion.
It’s generosity wrapped in twinkle lights.
It’s the feeling of “we take care of our own.”
We know that feeling.
We’re alive because of it.
The Energy You’ll Feel on December 5th
Ask anyone who’s gone — it’s not your average fundraiser.
Festival of Trees feels like the entire county takes a breath together.
Humans laugh, mingle, meet neighbors, and crowd around the trees like they’re old friends returning for the season. The raffle prizes are incredible this year — travel goodies, coffee, wine, cat-themed surprises, local restaurant cards, even a gourmet experience.
And we’ve heard whispers (straight from the tinsel itself) that the “Meowy Christmas” tree is especially magical this time.
You won’t want to miss it.
More importantly: the animals can’t afford for us to miss it.
If You’ve Been Waiting — Don’t.
Tickets don’t last long once the final reminder goes out.
We know life gets busy — dinners, work, kids, the general chaos of existing as a hooman — but if you have even a little tug in your heart telling you to go, we encourage you to listen.
Events like this are how rescues breathe.
How animals get their second (and third, and fourth) chances.
How communities prove again and again that kindness is alive here.
