We padded into the newsroom this morning (yes, padded — silence is our superpower) and found our hoomans typing with the kind of urgency usually reserved for vet appointment days or when someone leaves a rotisserie chicken unattended.
Turns out, the Animal Rescue League of Berks County is hosting a low-cost Vaccine Clinic on December 8th, 2025 from 4–6 PM, right at Pet Supplies Plus, 538 E Lancaster Ave, Reading PA — and it’s the kind of community care moment we never want anyone to miss.
This isn’t just a clinic. It’s the little heartbeat behind everything the ARL does. So, naturally, we sharpened our pencils (claws) and got to reporting.

While we admittedly prefer naps to needles, even we know that these pokes save lives — ours included.
Safety Tips (We’re Professional Worriers)
The ARL kindly reminds everyone:
Cats must arrive in carriers (escape artists, stay humble).
Dogs must be leashed — retractable leads locked.
If your pet has a history of reactions or big feelings around strangers, it's okay to skip this clinic for everyone’s safety.
Vaccine certificates are emailed (no crinkly paper for us to steal).
Bring treats. Bring patience. Bring photos of your pets to show strangers. Trust us — they want to see them.
Why This Clinic Matters
When you show up for the ARL, you show up for animals who haven't met their forever humans yet. Every vaccine purchased helps fund:
Shelter care
Emergency rescue
Spay/neuter programs
Medical treatment
Second chances
We’re four cats who survived because humans cared. Events like this make that possible.
