✨ A Glow Worth Purring About
Hi there, it’s Callie, Seymour, Yebba, and Mama — your resident newsroom cats at Stray Cat News, reporting live from under the Christmas tree (don’t worry, we haven’t knocked it over yet… today).
You know how we feel about shiny things. So when we heard that Lights on Elwyn — one of Berks County’s brightest holiday displays — was returning this season and helping local rescue animals, our tails started twinkling with excitement.
From November 29 through December 30, 2025, you can drive or stroll by this purrfectly magical light show at 216 Elwyn Avenue in Sinking Spring, PA.
And here’s the best part: every night, donations collected go directly to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County (ARL) to support animals in need. 🎁🐾
What Makes Lights on Elwyn So Special?
Lights on Elwyn isn’t just another holiday display — it’s a love letter to the community.
Created and hosted by Ron, Kerin, and their incredible team, this annual light show transforms an ordinary neighborhood street into a winter wonderland of color, joy, and generosity.
Here’s what you can expect:
🎄 Thousands of dazzling lights that dance, twinkle, and shimmer to holiday music.
🐾 Donation drop-offs that directly benefit shelter animals at ARL Berks County.
💫 Family-friendly fun that brings the holiday spirit to life for all ages (and species).
Hours:
Monday – Friday: 6 PM – 8 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 6 PM – 9 PM
Grab some cocoa, bundle up, and bring the family — it’s a holiday tradition that saves lives.
🎁 Why It Matters
When you drop a dollar (or a few cans of cat food) in the donation box, you’re giving more than holiday cheer — you’re helping cats, dogs, and other shelter pets get the care, comfort, and second chances they deserve.
The Animal Rescue League of Berks County provides medical treatment, warm shelter, and adoption programs for thousands of animals each year.
This glowing event is proof that kindness can shine brighter than any light string. 🌟
🐈 From Our Whiskers to Yours
We may not be able to hang lights (paws are terrible with extension cords), but we can tell you this: every flicker of color at Lights on Elwyn represents a story of hope.
So, whether you visit once or make it your annual family tradition, know that your presence — and your generosity — help local rescues continue their life-saving work.
Afterward, head over to The Cat’s Meow for more Berks County cat events, adoption spotlights, and ways to make this holiday season truly purrfect.
