There are moments when a whole town feels quieter — when one small absence is felt far beyond a single home.

This is one of those moments.

We’re writing today because a beloved cat named Pickles is missing in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, and her family — especially her hooman, Malorie — is doing everything possible to bring her home safely. And now, so are we.

As rescue cats ourselves, we know what it means to be lost. We know what it means to be scared, silent, and tucked away somewhere warm because the world outside feels too big, too cold, or too loud. We also know what it means when people show up anyway — checking, asking, sharing, and refusing to give up.

That’s what this story is about.

Who Pickles Is — and Why This Matters

Pickles is a hairless Sphynx cat, small and gentle, and deeply loved. She is an indoor-only cat, not built for winter weather or outdoor survival. Because she doesn’t have fur, she seeks warmth instinctively — quiet places, enclosed spaces, anywhere that feels safe.

She is not the kind of cat who wanders loudly or draws attention to herself. When she’s frightened, she hides. When she hides, she does so silently.

That matters — because it means she could be very close and still unseen.

When and Where Pickles Was Last Seen

Pickles went missing on Christmas Eve morning, around 8:00 AM, near Haas Road in Hamburg, PA.

Because of the cold, there is strong reason to believe that she may be:

  • Inside a garage, shed, basement, porch, or outbuilding

  • Accidentally locked inside a warm space

  • Taken in by a kind person who believed she was a stray and wanted to protect her

Why the Search Has Expanded

Malorie has been thoughtful, thorough, and honest about exploring every possible scenario.

Pickles has, in the past, climbed into a car engine compartment during cold weather. Because of this, there is a possibility she may have unknowingly traveled with a vehicle and could now be near Hazel’s Café, particularly around the alley where cars park regularly.

Warm food, a heated bed, and cameras are set up in that area, and nearby residents are being asked to check quiet, warm spaces.

How the Community Can Help Right Now

If you live in or near Hamburg, PA, especially around Haas Road or the Hazel’s Café area, here’s how you can help — even if you only have a few minutes:

Please check:

  • Garages (including ones not used daily)

  • Sheds and outbuildings

  • Basements and crawl spaces

  • Under porches, decks, steps, and trailers

  • Quiet, warm corners where a small cat could hide

Pickles may not come when called. She may not move. She may be tucked tightly into a space that feels safe.

If you see her, please do not chase her. That could cause her to flee and hide deeper.

Instead, contact Malorie immediately so she can respond calmly and safely.

A Reward — and Deep Gratitude

A generous reward is being offered for confirmed information that directly leads to Pickles being found and returned safely.

No questions asked.
Only gratitude.

Even a small detail — a sound, a shadow, a checked camera — could be the missing piece.

If you can:

  • Ask a neighbor to check a space

  • Look through your own garage or shed

  • Keep an eye out

You are helping more than you know.

And if Pickles finds her way home — which we believe she can — it will be because people chose to hold hope together.

For any sightings or information, please contact Malorie:
484-333-5690

We’ll keep telling Pickles’ story until she’s home where she belongs.
